    Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) Pakistan: A Situational Assessment

    The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is an umbrella organisation of the Taliban and other various salafist-jihadist aligned militants who want to overthrow the Pakistani state. They have been increasing the frequency of their attacks on the Pakistani Government and have formed a shadow state within the nation. Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan are rapidly deteriorating as Pakistan accuses the latter of harbouring TTP militants. Moreover, the US is likely to note the rise of TTP given its own issues with the group and Pakistan’s role as an ally.
