Cuba and Belarus have maintained friendly diplomatic relations for over three decades. Since Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, both countries have remained close allies of Russia. In a visit to Moscow in November 2022, President Díaz-Canel showed his support for Putin in exchange for the postponement of debt payments.
