Iran-Sudan Relations: Drone Supply & Red Sea Access

Iran-Sudan relations have seen a dramatic rise in cooperation between the two governments. This has been characterised by an increase in the Iranian supply of high-tech weapons and equipment, namely the Mohajer-6 drone which the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has utilised in its fight against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Additionally, Iran has been attempting to secure a Red Sea naval port so that it can refuel and repair its ships whilst also projecting strength onto the other side of its historical regional rival, Saudi Arabia. After an 8-year absence in relations between the two states, there appears to be an upward trend in regards to governmental relations.
