China’s Military Ambition Seen in World’s Largest Command Center

Executive Summary

China’s new military command centre, currently under construction some 20 miles southwest of Beijing, is projected to be ten times the size of the Pentagon and spans 1500 acres, according to satellite imagery cited in international press. Military experts expect it to replace the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) Western Hills command centre. It exemplifies Beijing’s emphasis on military growth, modernisation, and expansion.
