As cyber security is becoming more relevant in warfare, Israel must focus on their own developments. Israel’s enemies, such as Iran, have their own coherent cyber capability. They can use this capability as a weapon against the Israeli state and its people. As Israel faces cyber attacks from Iran, improving their own capability will be a focus for 2023. Further, the cyber-dome will likely be the centre of attention.

Key Judgment 1. Because of the Iranian cyber threats and attacks against Israel in 2022, it is highly likely that Israel will be hyper-focused on cyber security development in 2023. 

Key Judgment 2. It is likely that the development of the Cyber Dome over the course of 2023 will attract countries on the world stage, encouraging further cyber security collaboration between Israel and other countries. 

Key Judgment 3. Although Israel’s cyber security developments are quite impressive and happening at a rapid pace, it is unlikely that Israel’s most hostile enemies, including Iran and Palestine, will slow down their efforts in their attempt to oust Israel.
