China-DRC relations: 12-month Forecast

China and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) recently announced the elevation of their bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Beijing’s growing strategic investments in the DRC’s mineral resources allow China to leverage its access to critical minerals by gaining a significant lead in climate security technologies. China’s monopoly over the market represents the opportunity for Beijing to increase the world’s dependence on Chinese production and its ability to innovate.
