The Colombian Experiment against Violence: A 6-month Forecast

Colombia faces many security issues due to its history of internal tension involving guerrilla groups, drug trafficking organisations, and criminal bands. The 2016 peace accord with the FARC and the 2023 ceasefire with the ELN are big steps towards ending the armed conflict. Nevertheless, there are still some insurgent factions. The security situation is exacerbated further by drug trafficking, organised crime, and societal problems. The subsequent administrations have taken steps to address these issues. However, ensuring long-term peace and stability remains a work in progress.
