US Temporary Withdrawal of Intelligence Support to Ukraine

Executive Summary

In early March 2025, the US stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine and blocked commercial satellite imagery companies from supplying their products to Kyiv. This raised concerns surrounding repercussions on the battlefield, related negotiation processes, and US-Europe relations. However, following the Ukrainian agreement to a 30-day ceasefire achieved during negotiations in Saudi Arabia, military support and intelligence sharing were reinstated. The strategic move by President Trump’s administration leveraged economic and diplomatic interests. Nonetheless, it sparked tension with European allies, including NATO members, potentially disrupting the group’s cohesion.
